Child Rescue
Rescuing and rehabilitating abandoned children
A Common Scene, a Serious Problem:
Children like these are an everyday scene, but their story has barely been heard. The story their eyes silently tell... one that tells of loneliness and an empty stomach. Scenes of dirty and hungry orphans and street children of India have taken up the space in the beautiful journal pages of tourists from wealthy countries. But their real story has never been told… until now. Her Beauty Is Her Curse!
As far as a street child is considered, her beauty is her biggest enemy. She falls prey of the greedy traders faster than others, who jump on her like wild dogs. She could bring them more profit! A greedy trader would bid her higher because her innocent face and tender body will sell her at a higher price in the “market”! Human trafficking is no small business. An estimated 8 Billion dollars flow into the pockets of perpetrators of this internationally condemned trade.
What We Do
SANMA’s Child Rescue recognizes the victims, rescues the children, and rehabilitates them to be able to start a new life. As a preventive measure, the program conducts in-dept awareness classes for the public and seminars to train rescue volunteers.
Three ways you can help SANMA's Child Rescue:
Pray: For God to intervene and speak to the hearts of the perpetrators and to comfort the wounded hearts of the children who are brutally abused by the primitive actions of the “civilized world”. If you would like to be added to the list of our prayer partners, please click here.
Report: There are activities that you may notice around you at home as well as overseas involving the abuse of children. When you witness one of these despicable acts, do not hesitate to report what you have seen to the legal authorities. SANMA’s India office has dedicated staff that work with the government entities such as Child Welfare, who can make cases against these perpetrators and rescue the victimized children.
Fund Child Rescue to help stop child exploitation in South Asia:
Sponsor Awareness Camps $300:
Conducting community based awareness camps are very important to the success of this program. Each awareness camp costs only $300 and communicates the message to approximately 100 people.
Train and support a local person to rescue a child: $250/ Rescuer Training Program:
Each rescuer goes through six seminars over the course of a year. Instructors of the course include professionals in child psychology, medical professionals and law enforcement officers. A properly trained rescuer can help protect hundreds of children a year from potential dangers to their lives.
Buy Freedom for a Child’s Life: $45/month:
$45/child per month includes food, clothing, education, and necessary medical expenses for each child. By rescuing and rehabilitating a child, you become the liberator of that soul and are offering freedom for a human being who otherwise would never know what freedom means!
Build Village Schools to Promote Literacy and Support Read India:
$6,000 to build a new village school.
SANMA’s Community Education Centers are among the most effective ways to practically eradicate this social problem. The Community Education Center provides the rural population as well as the slum communities a) the knowledge of the rights they have as human beings, b) literacy education for adults and children in south Asia, and c) a place that hosts community based awareness camps for the villages and surrounding areas. |
